so as i sit here watching the bachelorette with my fam {i love william (and he's from cbus - eeeeek!!!) and jp (so far!)} i thought i'd do a little bloggy posting.

i'm really kind of loving these linky blog parties. they're fun - and they give you something to chat about.

and on that note... tickle me tuesday begins...

Miscellany Monday {The 3 day weekend edition}

Happy Memorial Day kiddies!

Are you out BBQing {yup, made up this word.} it up?!
I ate lots of yummy food at graduation parties yesterday. And enjoyed some adult beverages as well.

Well, it may feel like a warm and sticky Sunday but guess what?! It's Monday!! So that means it's time for Miscellany Monday at lowercase letters!!

And I kinda love this link party - gives you a chance to catch up - on all the randomness you didn't care about but now know! ;)

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. Yesterday while out for a beer drink run we came across this adorable beagle. He was sitting in the middle of the road - in the country. This. Is. Dangerous. He was so cute, but sitting in front of three houses... we couldn't come up with a consensus as to whether he needed rescued or not. He was there when we drove back too - but we couldn't get him, he was barking and running. So sad... I hope the puppy was just out for a walk that day and not really homeless.

2.  I'm watching the Today Show right now with Hoda and Kathy Lee. I have a love/hate relationship with this segment. I enjoy it - but Kathy Lee drives me bonkers. She keeps calling Hoda, Hoda Woman... why?! Who told her that was a cool thing to say?! On national TV?! Ughhh!
Shut up Kathy Lee Woman! ;)

3. I really want to lay out today {I'm sitting here writing this in my bathing suit and cover up} but it looks HOTTT outside. Already. Laying out is such hard work - takes so much patience. I don't have patience. Well, not much anyhow. What to do, what to do?!

4. I need to break up with Pinterest. It consumes my time. {and blog, I apologize #notreallysorry}

5. I find myself wanting to use Twitter hashtags in texts, emails, and on Facebook. What is wrong with me?!!?!!? Twitter is taking over!!!! *sigh* #justsaying

6. Word on the street - we got a new dryer in our apt! This excites me beyond words {ours has been broken for a bit and we have been laundrymatting it for a while} finally the mountain of laundry in my room can cease to exist {and I can finally make my room pretty! Yayy!!}.

Happy Memorial Day lover butts! Go out there and soak up some sun, eat some delish food, and enjoy friends and family!

Love always.

Happy Sunday {And Memorial Day Weekend!}

It's the kickoff to summer weekend. I couldn't be more excited. I love everything about summer. {aside from the humidity - curly hair does not love this.} But everything else... I heart it all.

bonfires.
walking barefoot.
cookouts.
pool days.
getting that pretty tan glow.
dresses.
sandals.
days on the lake.
lunches on the patio.
sweet tea.
I'm home in the country this weekend {for the 3rd weekend in a row} {May is a busy family month, obviously! hehe}. Today there's graduation, graduation parties, and bonfires.

And don't forget about the real reason for this Holiday - remember those who have fought and died for our freedom, remember those who have served in the military to get us to where we are in this country. Take a second and honor them - without them - enjoying all the things we love {including 3 day weekends and sweet tea;)} wouldn't be possible.

What are you up to this for this long weekend?!

Love always.

{Pink and Green} and some Zac Brown Band.

Hi Pretties :)

How's your Thursday going?!

I'm pretty busy today but wanted to link up to Pink Preppy Lilly Lover for Pink and Green Thursday! {EEEEEK!!! Who doesn't love this color combo?! It's so... preppy!! ;)}

I'm also going to the Zac Brown Band concert tonight... O.M.G. I'm soooo excited!! Amy {THANK YOU!} got tickets for her and I to go for my birthday {see, i'm still managing to celebrate!} {oh, did I mention that I have kick-ass friends?!} !! So pumped! Gonna rock my cowboy boots {which I love so much that I want to buried in} and a cute like floral dress. Wearin country like I know best!! ;)

Anyways... on to the picture show...

I love this. I think it would look super cute with denim cut-offs. I. need. green. shoes. I must find some cute ones - have you seen any?!

This doesn't even need words. How perfect are both of those shades?! I am in love with them. {However, I'm pretty sure I own both just not in pretty Chanel bottles. *swoon*}

I love this. My bedroom {when clean} is in similar shades - but I love the simplicity of this. I think it's my new inspiration for some redecorating in my bedroom. It's so clean and girly.

I. love. the. pillows. I want to make them - and put them on the above pictured bedding. How summery and perfect?!

So when I first saw this, it sounded kinda gross... but the more I thought about it... the more I want to try it. Strawberry and Argula grilled cheese... could be very yummy... could be very gross! Haha. Have you tried anything like this?!

Well lovelies, that's it for Pink and Green - I think next week I'm going to do photos of what I own that are Pink and Green inspired!!

Have a most fabulous Thursday!

Love always.

The bucket list. 28 things.

Turning 28 feels weird to me. I feel like I should be married, having kids, living the white picket fence dream.  At least that’s what I thought when I was 18. Then – 28 seemed a lifetime away. And it was – just as 18 seem like a lifetime ago. It’s funny; we are planning out 10 year class reunion – 10 years? Where’d the time go?

Some awesome bloggers {like her and her} have made “bucket lists” and I’ve always wanted to make one. To make a list of all the crazy, simple, silly, outlandish things I can think of that I REALLY want to do.  So I thought what better time than my 28th birthday to begin one…

So here goes, guys. {and I highly encourage you make one of your own if you haven't already!}

1.     Learn to surf.
2.     Make it to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
3.     Sew {and design} a party dress.
4.     Live in a pink house.
5.     Go for a girl’s weekend with my Mom.
6.     Take a picture of myself in front of the Eiffel Tower.
7.     Go “unplugged” for a week.
8.     Take my kids on family vacations like my parents did. {Those are some of my favorite memories}
9.     Send snail mail more often. Who doesn’t love getting fun mail?!
10.  Watch every Audrey Hepburn movie.

Source: None via lizzie on Pinterest

11.  Have weekly father/daughter dates.
12.  Find “movie love” – I believe it exists.
13.  Run in the Race for the cure next  May.
14.  Live by the beach {maybe in my pink house…}
15.  Host {and cook} a holiday family gathering.
16.  Read the classics. {Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Erye}
17. Lose 15 lbs. For real, with good ole diet and exercise.
18. Read all the books that I buy.
19. When I go to bed at night, unplug myself. Put my phone away, turn the TV off and read.
20. Volunteer at the Humane Society.
21. Travel all over Europe.
22. Grow my hair long. Longer than I've ever had it.
23. Give my clothes to a girl that needs them.
24. Go on a clothing detox and not buy anything for 30 days.
25. Find a way to create more hours in the day. {What - a girl can dream. ;)}
26. Raise my family {when I have one} in the country. Like I was raised.

27. Take more me time.
28. Help start a clothing brand, from the ground up.

When you sit down and think about the things you want to do before you die. It's not an easy task. Some things are hard to put into words. Some are just completely silly. And some... I just don't know that the world needs to know them. {No offense, loves - but sometimes we have to keep a few things a bit private ;)}

I started with 28 - because... I just turned 28. I hope to add to it and to cross things off and keep you guys updated throughout - now you all can kind of hold me accountable. {That's a little intimidating!}

Have you made a bucket list?!

Happy Tuesday, loves.

Love always.

Miscellany Monday {Catch Up Edition}

I've been gone for a while. I know. I failed you all last week. It was a busy busy week and there are only so many hours in the day. So... lets just go with the fact that I took a lil breaky break from the "plugged - in" universe.

How was your week, dolls?!

I thought I'd link up for a little Miscellany Monday action. My sweet blogger friend, Erin at Living in Yellow always does this and I thought - what they hey - why not join in on the fun?!

So what are you waiting for?! Link up at lowercase letters!!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. last week was my "birthday week" and it was fabulous. i got to celebrate with so many of my closest friends. there's nothing that makes me happier than spending time with these people. they are my world.

2. i love thunderstorms. especially ones in the country - the ones that take forever to blow in. you can see them rolling thru the valley for 30 minutes before you ever hear the first rumble of thunder. one is rolling in right now. heavenly.

3. my mom has gotten a phantom subscription to Vogue and Allure. and this makes me insanely happy. now i get to read these magazines, for free. every month. i. love. that. {seriously, it's the little things.}

4. i have become obsessed with River Monsters. it's this show on the Animal Planet about killer fish found in rivers. it's addicting and makes me NEVER, EVER, EVER want to get into any water other than the swimming pool. the amazon and i will never be friends. {not like we would have been anyways, but i'm just saying.}

5. i have a serious redecorating itch right now. this itch needs to be scratched.

6. cucumber water is the most refreshing thing, ever. seriously, why don't restaurants offer cucumbers instead of lemons in the water?! {they need to start, stat.} have you tried it?! No?! you should!

7. i had breakfast with an old friend saturday - i was a bit nervous {although i told him it's silly to be nervous...}. it had been a good 8 years since we talked. but it was so good. so nice to see an old face and catch up. its refreshing to chat with someone who knew me so well so long ago.

I hope y'all had a fabulous weekend.

love always.

My Birthday Wishlist. {Semi Wordless Wednesday}

Hi loves - how are you?! I feel so very distant this week - what is with me?!
I have really failed this week at blogging. I equate that to it being absolutely disgusting here {we are talking 45 and raining - it's the middle of May. Not. Cool.}, me not feeling 100%, and well, it's my birthday week... so nothing else really matters. {ok, ok, so I haven't really been celebrating it everyday - like I wish I could - but, I can dream and play "princess" all week if I want... and believe me... I have been... and not the good princess. yesterday I had an evil bout as the ice princess... bad. news. bears.}

BUT today... I'm much happier. So thats good for all parties involved - mainly, myself.

So, since it is my birthday eve {and Wednesday}...

Here is my birthday wishlist...
by way of Flip Flops & Pearls Semi Wordless Wednesday!

Photobucket

Feel free to send me anything you see...I won't be too picky ;) hehehe.

yellow wedges. they would seriously go with EVERYTHING. *sigh*
do i want yellow wedges... or sperrys?!
decisions. decisions.

long hair. can you get me this?! or maybe just suggest a magical potion?!

this manicure. it. is. so. me.

i love this dress. and the bike. i need a bike.

this print... in a frame. because i will forever and always have messy hair. and i have learned to embrace it. love it, really.

he. is. adorable. i want. {this is about the point years ago that I'd put on my begging, pouty face and say "daddyyyy, pleeeeeaseeeee, can i get him?! prettttttty pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease?!" cue pouty face, again... and, it would work. (I will have you know that this act works SO well that my Mom has been known to call me when she wants a puppy/kitten/polar bear/fuzzy cute animal and have me recite this to my Dad. That's the truth, kids.) BUT i'm 28 - and this face and pouty voice doesn't work on many other people. *sigh*} ...and i don't think Tric would enjoy him... cats + rabbits = a massacre. {i've witnessed this. RIP Rascal.}

What?! This is MY wishlist. Therefore, I can wish how BIG or small I want. And I want to go to Paris.
Now. Please send me, or pack me in your suitcase - I'm not picky.

Birthday breakfast, say what?! Lemon pancakes, people. I. would. be. in. heaven.

Hey, if I'm gonna dream - I may as well dream big. We all know how much I want to be a princess. {This week was no exception. I thought I was one.} Oh, Prince Harry... we would make the most adorable couple.

I wish to always remember this.

I need this.

I want to spend a day relaxing, reading, sipping mojitos right here. Someone needs to build me one of these... or just take me here. ;)

I know, I dream big. But thats the point of wishlists, isn't it?!

Happy hump day, dolls!
{And happy birthday eve to me! ;)}

Love always.

p.s. I'm aware of my horrible capitalization errors. Sometimes I was on. sometimes i was off. It's kind of very annoying, right?! Won't happen again. promise. But it's my birthday week, and i'm using it to all advantages. ;) {and I wrote this post over the course of a few hours, and kind of went in... and out of it. Oopsy.}

p.s.s. I love you guys for reading my obnoxious blogs this week. You. Are. Amazing.

Good karma.

Hey dolls - how was your weekend? Mine was pretty stinkin' busy. Saturday morning I participated in the Susan G. Komen race for the cure - which is always such a heartwarming event. I'm proud to be apart of it.

Went out for happy hour Saturday evening, which was nice. Can't beat a good happy hour with good friends.

And yesterday - it was grocery, cleaning, and chilling out from the week.

But the good news is... It's MY BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!!
{yes, for some reason, at some point in my life - I decided my birthday warranted an entire week instead of just a day. I'm okay with it. ;)}

So this week will be full of wish lists, random facts, and goals of mine. Saying goodbye to 27 and hello to 23 28. Wow, 28. That seems so old, to me at least. I know, I know - it's really not that old. But I can remember turning 18 and thinking how far away 28 seemed. Hmm.. Life is funny.

Anyways, I'm going to finish my Starbucks and get on with my day. I do hope you all have a fabulous day. {and week - I'm sending everyone good karma since its my birthday week! ;)}

Anything exciting going on for you this week?!

Love Always.

Race for the cure.

Today I participated in the Susan G. Komen race for the cure here in Columbus. This is the third year I was walked in it.

Its amazing the amount of people who come out for this. There is nothing like rounding the corner of Nationwide blvd. and seeing the masses of people. Makes you feel proud to be apart of something like this. It's such a great cause.

My best friend Missy, her mother passed away due to breast cancer so its a very special and emotional day to be a part of. Many others I know have been touched by this disease, so it feels good to do this every year.

Next year though my goal is to run the 5k.

How's your Saturday, dolls??

Love always.

Local Ladies {Mandi of Designs by Mandi Boutique}

I met this lovely lady about 6 months ago through our mutual friend, Meg. We instantly hit it off talking about fashion and all things pretty. We chat on Twitter almost daily about clothing, country music, working out, or just life in general. {I'm totally looking forward to grabbing dinner/drinks with her and the ladies tonight!!! Yayy!!!}

Mandi began Designs by Mandi Boutique after graduating college, moving back to Ohio, and wanting to find affordable, quality jewelry. And let me tell you... her jewelry is fabulous. I bought a large, floral cocktail ring last winter and I LOVE it. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on it. So check out her boutique. Follow her on Twitter. And order some adorable, quality jewelry!

Meet Mandi...

1. Tell us a little about yourself...
I'm the creator and owner of Designs by Mandi Boutique.  I started out my business almost a year ago when I was searching for a creative outlet and a way to unwind after a long day at my "real" job, as a Marketing Assistant. DBMB is absolutely my passion. I love every aspect of having my own business, and sharing beautiful jewelry with people. I think that is the key to life..doing what you love and finding what you are passionate about!

2. Where did you get the idea for Designs by Mandi?  When I first moved here I was a recent college graduate and therefore pretty broke. I was finding it really hard to find affordable but quality jewelry.  I couldn't pay department store prices, and I was getting tired of throwing my cheap jewelry away after a week of wear.  That's when I decided to start DBMB, a place where you could get affordable but quality jewelry.

3. Where do you pull inspiration from? Everywhere! Celebrities, magazines, other boutiques, people on the street, bloggers, I am always looking at what others are wearing and love to see how people layer accessory pieces, and use them to express their own individual look.

4. How would you describe your personal fashion sense? Fashion to me is always about dressing according to how I feel that day, as art form to express myself.  I would say I tend to be more edgy and trendy than anything else.  To be honest, I usually care more about what accessories I'm using to pull the outfit together than the clothes I'm wearing.  One of my favorite "go to" outfits is a pair of dark jeans, a black t-shirt and some awesome layered necklaces! (Oh, and killer shoes.. you gotta have the shoes..)

5. Any exciting news for Designs by Mandi's future? Designs by Mandi will be teaming out with other bloggers to do a few giveaways this month, along with giveaways of our own. We are also adding lots of exciting jewelry for the summer season that I'm super excited about!

6. Advice for anyone trying to get into the online boutique world? Customer service is SO important. Sometimes people are weary of buying online, so I think letting your customers get to know you, and trust you and your business is huge.

Don't you love her jewelry?! I'm in love. I often have a hard time picking out my favorite pieces.

Please check her out. You won't regret it!

Happy Thursday, loves!

Love always.
